A Few Months Back I decided to teach and therefore vowed to volunteer as a tutor for a year's time atleast in SSRVM ( Sri Sri RaviShankar VidyaMandir ) in Dharavi;Asia's largest slum - a school for the first generation learners - meaning the first people in their entire family to ever study ...!!!

I volunteered for a few days in the concluding days of last academic year ... :)
And was told to rejoin as tutor in the next academic year..
I got a final call yesterday thats precisely the 27th June that i am supposed to start the new acacemic year's session the next day itself!
I with sheer excitement agreed for it :)

Monday arrives and so do the first day of mine as a tutor in the new academic year..!!
I was told to tutor Marathi to some of the kids there who cant grasp faster...Time was minimal 1:30 hrs a week..to catch them up on the parts they couldnt much grasp! :)
So i dressed myself neat and clean and then holding my bag i started towards the school...
Took a rickshaw and halted at T Junction thats the maximum the rickshaw can go near the school premises.!
Reached T Junction and then walked up the remaining distance!!
As i entered in the lane i saw the children leaving dressed in the school uniforms yes i am supposed to tutor the kids after hours..so as i entered the lane..i saw 2-3 kids as they made their way home...one of them i could recognize his face..just exclaimed look he is Swapnil Sir..and i smiled gently and continued to walk!!
Then i entered the school and walked near the office as two of the students i tutored last academic year..just smiled..i asked them how are you? both replied i am fine sir as they got busy searching their chappals and i smiled and entered the office..there i met my partner in tutoring, Amitaji- who also happens to be my best buddy;Damini's mom;quiet and calmly she sat and observed.In time punctual as always! By the way i was before time too.. half and hour before the said time!

Then we sat for few moments,as Sumanji the person who summoned us there to assemble;came and then she had a short meeting with the principal..!
Then she came out so did the principal and announced that the kids we were supposed to teach weren't present..3 of them were outstation and 1 was sick and left early!!
Some miscommunication here and there and in a short while we got to know therefore that we aren't supposed to teach and so i thought maybe we should leave. But then a teacher there asked us to check out the Nursery class..we could spend some time with the kids and assist the teacher there the children were small and the class was always better with more people to look after the small kids!
So i and Amita ji enthusiastically agreed to check out the Nursery class...!!
A caretaker there guided us to the Nursery class...as we entered we saw a different sight...actually confusing sight!!
Children scattered all over..For a moment i just stationed myself to get a hold of what is happening and what would i do; i mean how could i help the children there!!
Then the teacher held the hands of two kids and instructed others to jump on the instructions given!!
So the teacher instructed and some of the kids held each others hands...while others were lost in their own world and some others busy crying to go back home!!
Then the teacher jumped with two kids,so did the few;who obeyed the teacher!!
Then the teacher asked the children to make a circle....by holding each others hands!
Some students around 10 of them joined in...
Others busy in their own world with toys had to be brought back in this world :P
so i and Amitaji made sure some of them came back to play in this world!!
I saw a one blueeyed boy with a zebra in his hand..i instructed him to come and join the circle as i just gently touched my head to his ;) and then he twinkled his smile!! ;)
I stretched out my hand and he his as he joined in the circle!!
I saw a girl next who kept staring at me eye to eye now that was deadly as if was some zoo animal or some observatory piece in the lab!!
So sharply she looked and wide eyed!! i asked but she kept staring i wonder what was she staring in me!! :P
Next i joined in the circle group as in the background some enlightened ones kept wailing and providing the background music!!
Unusually a girl in the circle came out and set loose the joined hands as she joined hers to her neighbors and mischievously a girl who she approached didn't let loose the hand of her left and right both boys ;)
well that was co-incidence just that they were boys! :) but the girl seemed obedient so she didn't let go of the hand!! :)
then the teacher acted as if she forgot the song ..so that the students could shout it out!! now the teacher gave very little time for that ...saying what was it what was it!! and in 30 seconds!!
she broke in the suspense and shouted out the song as the children in the circle some confused; some lost ; some in the moment ; gazed at the teacher and so then the teacher made them jump with the song!!
As this happened, the teacher finally announced that its time for them to go home! i was a little disappointed as i could have loved to spend some more time with the kids! :D
But couldnt help some were already crying and giving SOS signals to get back home!
So the teacher announced the students to carry their bags(bags are too an interesting sight to see..furry and cartoon faces! children love furs and cartoons; reminds of my childhood,even i was the same ) and water bottles!!
So the children obedient and the ones in the present moment made their way to the area where bags where kept..and picked up their bags! and water-bottles too :)
I helped a girl to strap the belts of the bag on her shoulders! as she smiled and put the bottle strap around her neck..and moved towards the entrance of the class!
While few ones unaware of the moment had to be guided to the area where bags are kept and told that its time for freedom for them!! :)
Suddenly the feets moved fast and the face expressions changed!! i cant describe u need to observe that ;)
Then as almost all left..a girl i saw continuously weeped as she sat! :(
i went to her and gently pleaded to get up and move for the way home!!
still no response..i gestured her where's the bag and bottle ..still hundred percent in crying :(
Now i just picked her up and brought her near the entrance of the class! :)
where Amita ji was busy handling another kid as she help him too strap the bag on his shoulder.. :) so i put her down now and put my finger near hand as she gently held my finger...now i got it she was crying but needed company..so long to tell and what a way to tell! :)
So we walked out the class..me and the wailing girl...as she gently held my finger and walked bare-footed on the ground..to make her smile i pointed out to her the furry doggy sitting there!!
She gazed at her and then continued to walk and wailing stopped!! :) :D i was happy then!!
As she came near the exit of the school...i saw her mom waving out the hand for her :)
and her reaction...face became absolute normal;as if nothing had happened!! :)
I gently released my hold over her little finger and then handed her over to her mother!! :)
As she went up in her mother's arms and her mother made her wear the pichook pichook sound boots! :)
and she looked around confused and observing the moments around :)
As i came back to the office exchanging smiles with her mother and with a contented heart :)
I walked out from the office exchanging many more smiles to the people around and entered the small lane leading us out with Amita ji :)
We walked out till T junction and then caught a rickshaw from there and i came back home!!
Happy and Contented!!
Children are really a sight to watch..full of knowledge every single moment and so much to observe in them!!
A few moments with the children and you are charged again!!
Guess what as u take responsibilty comes with that is the power ;)

So guys the first day was awesome and full of wonder ..
who says 20mins are less...see how many moments happened in those 20mins!! :)
A lot happens over a moment ...if you observe and have a keen eye!!
You will be amazed at urself how life changes from no where to every where ;)
Bliss at every moment :)
So much to learn so much is hidden in this VERY moment!!

Will keep you posted of some more moments as i come across in the near future!
till then keep observing the moment :)

Stop Another Bhopal

Hi ,

What a shame! The Bhopal judgement is so unfair! The real culprits are free and the ones punished are already out on bail.

After all this our government is still bent on appeasing foreign corporations. It is only considering some cosmetic changes in the nuclear liability bill. The proposed nuclear liability bill allows foreign corporations to get away by paying a meagre compensation in case of a nuclear accident in our country.

We have to stop another Bhopal in the making. Over 1.8 lakh people, including me, have already signed the petition asking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to stop the bill in its current form. More signatures will make the opposition to this bill stronger.

Stop a nuclear disaster

Hi ,

Our government is churning out one hazardous bill after another. This time it is a bill called the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage, and it's coming up for a vote in a couple of days.

The bill lets U.S. corporations off the hook for any nuclear accidents they cause on Indian soil. They'd only have to pay a meagre amount, and Indian taxpayers would be stuck paying crores for the nuclear clean up and to compensate the victims.

Without any public debate, the Prime Minister is appeasing American interests and ignoring our safety.

Greenpeace is launching a petition asking the PM to hold a public consultation before introducing the bill.

I have already signed this petition. Can you join me?

You are not born with hatred in your genes!!

Its the habit,incident the person has undergone is the one existing in you also which you want to get rid of but are clueless about how to get rid of and so whenever the person comes,the thing in you and him comes up and you start moving away from the person thinking that it will create a peace of mind!

You want to create a distance from that habit,event;in the process but you start moving away from the person and appears to the other person that this person is disliking him/her.

The moment you realise what the dislike is.. You Can think of the solution and I promise the next time you meet the person whom you dislike ... observe the thing that is causing hatred and work towards it ..

Once you have overcome the thing you will face the person with a smile and not with a grin!

Facing the fear eliminates the fear...
Fear creates the distance!

Man eats Non-Veg and has been eating it since a long time now..
I had no offence if i just were transferred a few 100 years back...but now i do.....!!!
The reason am here to pen down..
Years back Man ate Non-Veg and the supply for non-veg was possible because of sufficient stocks available.
That is if 50 animals(150 being the animal population say suppose) was the demand over say 6 months,then demand would be met comfortably without much harm done to the environment cycle and the animal population.

Now in present day times,animal almost have the same naturally bred population census.It may have crossed in addition to say 10-20%.
But that's still insufficient compared to the growth of people which has gone beyond,exponentially.Resul

ting in the expontential increase in demand of animals,which was previous linear and in control.
As a result now there has been an imbalance of the supply,demand and the stock.
The demand for non-veg,animals has increased,the stock,i.e. the animals insufficient,and the supply therefore doesnot meet the demand.
To counteract the balance between the demand and supply of animals,man has been making efforts to increase the stock,ie increase meat production.
Here is where the brutual facts come.
Animals have body limitations,they have a body cycle.
Man has been making efforts to increase the production by chemicals.
Some of the procedures carried out are castration,debeaking,removing the horns,injecting chemical for faster growth-results in opposing the body cycle.
All this and many more brutual acts done just so that human demands for meat is met for....Without considering the pain and the torture animals have to go through...
How can a person ever say he is a responsible person when such a widely known thing is neglected, reason selfish nature..
Some Myths..
People say they find taste in meat..which is bland!!! All the spices actually add up the taste..
Meat have proteins..so what you have to kill animals brutually and then what instantly you have superpowers with the protein...Wake up so many vegetables have proteins get out of your comfort zone and get some vegetables.....
So dont we kill plants....Dr JC Bose proved plants have life...This is funny...
If you spare vegetables they rot and if you spare a animal it lives....

How can your words ever carry power when you do such a heinous act of supporting the brutual meat industry..No wonder there are top hotshots who earn the money out of such a business..i should say they are trading human lives for their own materialistic comforts...

So what can we do!- As what Gandhiji Did...
Non-co-operation--- this is the most peaceful and the most effective way...
If each person in every house decides not to eat non-veg then why would the need for slaughtering more animal arise...
As it is said Charity begins at home ...I have decided not to eat non-veg so can you all!
Its just a small step but the small step in every house in the world is what going to actually make the world a better place to live in!
I decide to not buy pirated cd's.
I will not talk while i drive.
I will not break the signal rules.
I will not litter anywhere but the dustbin.
I will not drink and drive(I dont drink!).
I will abide by the rules and help the rules stay as rules!

It's just one person in everyhouse that decides the world to be better place to live in!

Here am I changing the world by my actions...if the output needs to be seen..we need more and more people to join in...
Atleast i am being a part of the solution...I am doing my part...so you can do...contribute by sharing this facts with more and more people...

Many people are continuing to do the things because they are unaware of the facts,and those who still continue to do so inspite of knowing are very few and ignorant...
Its time that we all make ourselves known to this fact...Gravely affecting the animals,environment,world and the universe....Because our present actions are going to make the future for our successors a better place to live in!!!

Piracy!!!!

Dear Ones,
As you say even i was enjoying the fruits of listening to music,movies and reading books at a lower cost,infact i never had a thought to buy original stuff,and my greed on having more music,movies,...has just increased incessantly...
I will give you a situation...Suppose you release your own solo music album,
You release the CD in the public....
Your Album is a Smash Hit!
Now somebody wants to earn money....
So they copy your cd content without your permission,your knowledge and send it across to all the tapri markets where they sell it @ Some affordable price!
And Guess what people buy it....
Where does the money go...?? not to to the person who created the album but to the person who copied and released a fake version in the market....
Who loses on these grounds...its you!

Its the same things happening..see on the larger perspective,in the greed of wanting more...we are supporting the piracy business...
Its easy to buy the low cost CDS,or books but you are responsible in a way in bring ing down the business of that poor chap who first put invested so much into it!

Ever seen many film actors,actually saying Stop Piracy!
You know why because it does cause a reduction in the business,because the same product is available somewhere at a affordable price and the creators lose out on everything, money,market!

So you can ask why is not the piracy business given a stop when its so known to causing harm!
I will tell you piracy is just one example of corruption we are supporting and the reason these things are still going on are some top hotshots are supporting it,more strongly we are buying them!

I will tell you Bawa DOES NOT BUY Pirated CD's DVD's Books He buys them from shops,Amazon.com,Crosswords,Online Shopping from his own hardearned money!
You can email and ask him if you want to confirm him!

So does my mentors Rohit Bhaiya and Shilpa Didi,
I heard Bhaiya once saying that why are you buying the pirated CD's instead rent the CD's!

If we have to stop the corruption,then we have to show non-corruption to those things!
Its us who have made the piracy business grow!
Its us by non-co-operating can make the business shrink!

See its not your stuff which is being sold that is why you say why what is the problem!
The moment it starts affecting you!
The day this things hit you you will realise the problem!

I know its tough to give up since you are so addicted to watching movies cds at lower rates!
I too had!
But i did i deleted over a 1000 songs of English,Marathi,Hindi deleted over 30 movies all done as my counter the problem of piracy!

As it is said either be a part of the problem or the Solution!

I chose latter!

So what if I am not able to completely stop it,I am atleast not contributing to the losses to the business of the individuals who actually have given their best!

I will tell you its just nature of an individual then,first film music and now people are copying aol music,meditations!
Guess if people are getting it free why would people buy the CD on the first place!
I saw this thing happening and found that the only way to stop it is first me stopping this stop.
Then making people aware of this thing!

Let me tell you all the things i have i not all pure pristine!
My Lappie for example has pirated OS of XP!
I guess its not registered!
But i am making steps for that i am slowly buying those things which i have in pirated versions to counteract the market!

I can now say i did support the piracy and made sure the market was not affected neither!
I make use of the pirated versions for sometime and then after some months,boom buying the original pieces of softwares,to promote the market!

I so use more of freeware,distributed for free softwares!
More safer and supports the norms of business!

I do say i have pirated products but i do make sure i buy the original stuff in a while as well!

Today I have deleted almost say over 40 GB of data off the disk and guess what just in a few days,i got music CDS,gifts to me from my friend!

Its you who think is not possible to buy the original CDs,I say yes make yourself capable of buying the original stuff!

If you want more of Cds and oppose what do you have to do,nothing just work more,earn more and then earn your CDs or earn you can chose the other option be satisfied with low quality,earn less,and keep cribbing,oh there is corruption!

The Choice is Yours!

P.S. : No Hard Feelings for anyone here,these are just my thoughts if you agree,its my pleasure that you are supporting me!
If you disagree,its your ignorance of the urgency of the hour,i still will wait for the time when you agree over this issue and that would be when you will be victim of this crisis!

Why is the media here so negative?
Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements?
We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?
We are the first in milk production.
We are number one in Remote sensing satellites.
We are the second largest producer of wheat.
We are the second largest producer of rice.
Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.
I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.

In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.. Why are we so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T.Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.

Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India . For her, you and I will have to build this developed India . You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation.
Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance.

Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours.
YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.
YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.

YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?

Take a person on his way to Singapore. Give him a name - 'YOURS'. Give him a face - 'YOURS'. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity… In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai . YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah.
YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds (Rs.650) a month to, 'see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.'YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, 'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost.' YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand .
Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo? Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston??? We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India?

Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay, Mr. Tinaikar, had a point to make. 'Rich people's dogs are walked on the streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place,' he said. 'And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the pressure in his bowels?
In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan.
Will the Indian citizen do that here?' He's right.. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility.
We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.
We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.
This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public.

When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? 'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system?
What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away.
Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England . When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too…. I am echoing J. F. Kennedy's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians…..

'ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY'

Government of India has an online Grievance forum at http://pgportal.gov.in/ Can you imagine this is happening in INDIA?

The govt. wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with Government officials or departments like Passport Office, Electricity board, BSNL/MTNL, Railways etc.
Many of us say that these things don't work in India. Couple of months back, the Faridabad (A city of Haryana State) Municipal Corporation laid new roads in his area and the residents were very happy about it. But two weeks later, BSNL dug up the newly laid roads to install new cables which annoyed all the residents. A resident used the above listed grievance forum to highlight his concern. To his surprise, BSNL and Municipal Corporation of Faridabad were served a show cause notice and the guy received a copy of the notice in one week. Government has asked the MC and BSNL about the goof up as it's clear that both the government departments were not in sync at all.

So use this grievance forum and educate others who don't know about this facility. This way we can at least raise our concerns instead of just talking about the 'System' in India.

18 Dec. on the night show of Radio Mirchi 98.3 saw the witty visit to Radio Mirchi Station by Bawa and Dinesh,with RJ Suren in the Night-roGen show.

Bawa N Dinesh in their usual style stole the show.......................

I give below a brief account of what happened,as from where I heard the Interview.

You know on radio at night time most radio shows focus on relationships(????)

So when Bawa was asked to solve a relationship problem.

Bawa told a universal answer .An answer which applies to all cases in relationships.

He said the Secret of all Relationships lies in Giving more and expecting the least,otherwise it becomes like a business.

Tune diya to main doonga...

Bawa said it was more important to have faith and have the attitude of giving then you will not get carried away by the charm of others,you will not compare,for you have not given enough to compare.

When you feel you have given the best,then you compare,then giving stops,expectaation creeps and when that halt exceeds,relationship seems a problem and a search for other relationship starts.

To keep a realtionship give in more,dont expect,just feel you have still havent given enough and then comes more understanding in the relationship.

Another question asked that Bawa being an IITian how Art of Living helped to support him.

Bawa smiled.He said in Art of Living ,he is looked after so that needs are fulfilled.

Infact Being an Art of Living Teacher would be a viable option for people,an act that is so fulfilling.Bawa quoted further both of them now have travelled in 25 odd countries over the world and its been a funfillled and enriching experience for them.And has to for everyone who opts for so (becoming a Travelling Art of Living Teacher).

RJ Suren,We heard Some AOL teachers were there stuck in Taj during the whole incident.

Dinesh Da,They were among the first 100 ones who managed to come out.

Meanwhile in the Taj these teachers helped people heal,gave them blessings,taught them how to hold their bladder since they couldnt move out to reach the toilets,so see even in a more stress ridden environment,the teachers were doing their prime responsibility,helping out each other,just as every other Mumbaikar must have felt at that time.

Bawa explained the meaning of Jai Gurudeva to Suren,and asked him to join in the course.

Naughtily Suren said I WILL TRY.

Generation X!!!!!?????

Jai Gurudev,
16 Dec.08 Evening time,i had given my Microprocessor paper and I left for home from college.
Unlike everyday today i decided to go walking from Bandra Station East after taking a train from Andheri to Bandra.
I happily left for home walking with many thoughts along.I made a quick call to ask Share Market Tips to my friend and continued the walk meanwhile.
I crossed in the Western Express Highway and went to the other side.
There's a small General Store on the other side of the road,where Homemade Beverages are served(what we call as Sarbat).
Normally i dont buy anything from this store but this unusual day i decided to buy the thing to quench my thirst.(Had to be a reason why i was there read on you will find.)
I had a nice look at the menu and finally chose to have Nimbu Sarbat considering my upset stomach.
I ordered one,it was pretty Paisa Vasool, chilled and at 5 bucks(not that costly) since it was satisfying.
As i was enjoying the Nimbu Sarbat,a boy came at the shop gave in 3 Rupees and said something softly,I was at a distance so could not make it out.
I thought may be he wanted some chocolates and the shopkeeper would surely give him some as sometime before a boy had asked for the same.
But to my utter shock,the shopkeeper handed the boy a CIGARETTE.I was for a moment shocked,but then thought,may be he must be purchasing for somebody else.
But he just seem to confirm my shock.He went ahead to the lighter stand and lit the cigarette.
It just as if time stood in for me at that time.
I said what!!!!! A Boy seemingly in 8th Grade smoking Cigar........I was aghast.......Shattered to see what the coming generation was going into.
I said to myself.Wake Up I need to tell him that what he was doing was wrong.
I finished my drink man it was total paisa vasool....and then went in to look where that boy went after lighting the cigar.
Just a few steps away,there he was smoking quietly hiding from the public,but clearly smoking like an adult.
Now this was something first time I came across.I had no idea what to tell him,but I knew I had to tell him,hello what you are doing is wrong...
So I went upto him and asked him "Are u Studying?" .He said "Yes". "And do your parents know that you smoke???".He boldly said"NOOO".
Then i told him that look man it's really really not good for the health,family and friends.He replied in between"I dont smoke regularly."
I told him that; my dear friend also said the same thing before ,but then secretly he got addicted to it and then we just lost him and his charm.
He dropped down the Cigarette. I saw that and was happy about it.He then was about to leave.
I dropped my hand over his shoulder and asked will you smoke again. He said"No".
He replied,"Thank you friend".But I felt that may be he needed to be told and convinced more so walked further along with him.
I inquired his whereabouts and got to know that he was staying in Near Ambedkar Nagar.Studying at Regal School,Colaba(I dont know that exists),Parents working there.
I asked him if there was any problem at home and was he therefore smoking? He said, no as such.
I told him that I really felt as you were my that friend who was not warned and who is therefore now not here on this planet earth.
I told him that,I and his(my friends) family really suffered the loss of a person who was once charming and most liked ,because of cigarettes.
So please please dont smoke.I dont want to lose you and your family,friend circle be affected by it.
Please for that my friend sake,please dont smoke and if anybody encourages you to drink,smoke,consume gutkha or something like that please dont get carried away by it,as you have no idea it completely ruins you,destroys your system, causes cancer,then you cannot do the things you like to do,but you just have to lie on the bed helpless.
If you still feel you are doing right thing by smoking you are thoroughly mistaken.
Its really going to ruin you afterwards.Please for the dear family and your friends stop smoking cigar if you are still having the thought.
And prevent others from doing so.stop every other person who is doing wrong .
Maybe that person is a teenager boy smoking cigar,a person littering or spitting just stop that person.
Be in good company avoid the company who tells you to adopt the bad ways. He kept nodding his head throughout my talk.
He then reminded me that he was getting late for home.
I reminded him dont ever think of smoking a cigar.
He said Yes and he went walking briskly.In few moments he disappeared in the crowd.
I had no idea why I had a conversation with him.Who that person was.And Why I was there to drink that Nimbu Sarbat.Perhaps for this boy to stop smoking.
God knows............mysterious are the ways of nature............Maybe it was the turning point of his life....
I have no idea why i had such a long and convincing conversation with that boy perhaps he required it......
Anyways I left for home......with more joy,feeling more refreshed.....
Thought I share this experience with you all.
